From Roberta and Helge -

Dear Bunnie- Firstly We want to send you all love and regrets for not being here- Helge is in India and I'm preparing.....So...to begin my short message (but with a big heart)- I remember when I first noticed Bunnie, when Helge and I came to Sandgate the first time in 1991. She felt warm and wonderful and I thought (I think) will I ever get to know this legendary blond beautiful woman! And then Helge and I decided to get married in New York and asked Bunnie to be our Justice of the Peace. Again, I thought how will I become friends with this awesome woman who knew Helge's second wife. Well, the rest is history, I did get to know and love and enjoy you. Forever, I will think of you having dinner on a Friday night with Helge and me,,,,so you don't even have to be there....seriously, I wish you live as long as you can stand it and come to dinners, and we continue to meet and talk and talk. Finally---I wish to use a quote I read at the exhibition of Marlene Dumas at MOMA- She's an artist who depicts in an incredible way the human condition. So-instead of Marlene- I would say BUNNIE HAS BECOME an influential part of my intellectual and emotional constellation of artists whose work and friendship has changed my way of thinking about the world. It has been a singular privilege to know her and her deeply moving work and I thank her for her contribution to my life. Love Roberta
